The domestic production technology and equipment of hot-dip galvanized steel sheets for high-performance automobiles currently mainly rely on introducing advanced foreign technologies. As the earliest domestic research unit to enter the field of continuous hot-dip galvanizing of steel strips, the Central Iron and Steel Research Institute assisted WISCO in introducing and digesting the first domestic hot-dip galvanizing unit in the 1970s. During the subsequent "Seventh Five-Year Plan" and "Eighth Five-Year Plan" period, the Central Iron and Steel Research Institute completed the development and scientific research of Galfan and Galvalume alloy coatings. The Central Iron and Steel Research Institute subsequently carried out the localization of continuous hot-dip coating equipment for steel strips and coordinated with relevant domestic units to complete the localization of essential equipment such as air knives, welders, sunken rolls (used by Galvalume), and gas purification devices. In recent years, the Central Iron and Steel Research Institute has always adhered to the combination of advancement in scientific research and development in these fields and has successfully developed a regenerative reduction annealing furnace with a combustion efficiency of more than 70 percent ; developed and promoted continuous hot-dip galvanizing of wideband steel. The alloy coating technology is designed to complete the regenerative folding reduction annealing furnace and designed and developed a medium current density electrolytic degreasing technology, closely tracking the ZAM series products with the highest corrosion resistance currently abroad and completing the pilot test.
